InfoWorld Magazine Reviews Celeros EzSAN XR23 as Celeros Adds Two New Product Lines To
EzSAN.
Redwood City, Calif., October 24, 2005 —
In an article published October 3rd titled "iSCSI SANs Unleashed", InfoWorld magazine compared Celeros
Corporation's EzSAN XR23 product with other products from vendors including Network Appliance, Equal
Logic, and Intransa. While EzSAN XR23 prices were significantly lower than those of its competitors,
InforWorld declared that "XR23 held its own in performance tests" and "Celeros hardware is solid, the
lines are clean, and the solution is powerful."
In the article, InfoWorld acknowledges that Celeros aims to be the low cost vendor and confirms the
achievement by proclaiming that: "Celeros' motto of bringing sanity to storage costs rings true."
InfoWorld summarizes that "for what it aims to be, EzSAN XR23 delivers."
"This article and the test InfoWorld ran, not only clearly demonstrate the viability of iSCSI based
SAN solutions, it is also a ringing endorsement of Celeros' value proposition in providing customers
with low cost storage. While it confirms that iSCSI SAN based products such as EzSAN XR23 are ready
for prime time, a look at competitors' prices versus EzSAN is truly eye opening," said Hossein Alaee,
President of Celeros.
Prior to the publication of the article, Celeros announced the addition of two new product lines to
EzSAN that expand the current offering to include advanced features and a SAN Filer line featuring
Microsoft Windows Storage Server®. The new EzSAN XW Series offers a best of breed solution in NAS
by Windows Storage Server (WSS). XW appliances are targeted at IT organizations that run Windows
platforms and need network file and printer services as well as storage centralizations for
applications such as Exchange Servers.
EzSAN XL Software Series adds Multiple Scheduled Snapshot support, Online Volume Expansion and other
features to EzSAN. The ability to schedule up to 100 point in time snapshots supported in the XL
series allows the customer to recover from soft errors such as accidental deletion and overwrites or
after a virus or worm attack. Online Volume Expansion allows customers to dynamically add capacity to
existing volumes without requiring application intervention or data migration.
"Celeros is demonstrating its commitment to its customers in the SMB space by identifying IT storage
needs and addressing them with targeted appliances that deliver easy to operate and cost effective
solutions," said Abtin Assadi, CEO of Celeros.
All EzSAN Series (XR, XW, XL) are supported on all Celeros hardware platforms that range in capacity
from 1 to 12 TB and come in 1U and 4 bay (x11), 2 U and 12 bay (x23), and 5U and 24 bay (x56) form
factors.
